The No.1 Morning Routine to Feel Beautiful Inside and Out

A staple at Goddessance. This simple yet grounding morning routine will leave you feeling good in your skin.

⌛️ 30 minutes

The Story Behind the Routine

For a long time, I underestimated the power of a morning routine. I knew the theory, read the books, heard the advice — and still resisted structure. Until I noticed chaos started affecting how I felt about myself.

When your mornings feel messy, your self-esteem could follow. And at Goddessance, we know that’s directly tied to not feeling beautiful or enough.

Below you have the steps included in this morning routine. You can scroll down and read it all or simply click on the step you want to know more about.

The No.1 Morning Routine to Feel Beautiful Inside & Out

step 1

Start your day the right way

Your alarm rings and you know you should get out of bed. However, you need to shut off your alarm. Which means, you will pick up the phone. Now that the phone is in your hands, you start scrolling a little through Instagram and Tik Tok – to see what you missed out on, on a Monday night. Yes, I’m guilty of this and I’m willing to bet you are also part of the 80% of us that do this first thing when we wake up.

1. Get out of bed as soon as you wake up

⌛️✨ Time needed: 10 seconds

Try not to use your phone in the morning.  First of all, this will give you another 5 to 10 minutes for you morning routine. Second, it has been proven that using our phone first thing when we wake up has many effects on our mind and bodies:

Using your phone in the morning will abruptly shift your brain into a state of heightened alertness and interfere with your circadian rhythm – making it hard to feel your best throughout the day.

The dopamine rush from checking notifications first thing in the morning will likely keep you hooked on looking for dopamine rushes all day. And when you can’t get them, you will probably feel pretty icky about yourself.

Feeling like you are not as pretty or as beautiful as all the ladies you are seeing online, FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, is a pretty bad way of starting your day. Your brain is at its most receptive and easily influenced in the morning.

2. Make your bed

⌛️✨ Time needed: 2 minutes

Incorporating bed-making into your morning routine encourages mindfulness and self-discipline. It serves as a reminder to take control of your environment and promotes a structured approach to starting the day. If you are not convinced about this one, I highly recommend watching the University of Texas at Austin 2014 Commencement Address by Admiral William H. McRaven.

step 2

Priming your brain to feel beautiful inside and out

Scientific research shows that the brain is especially receptive and impressionable upon waking, as it transitions from sleep to a state of heightened neural plasticity. Studies suggest that the first 30 minutes of the day are ideal for activities like visualization, mindfulness, and positive intention-setting, as this is when the mind is most open to new ideas and habits. By using this early window for a morning routine to feel beautiful inside and out – you can reinforce a sense of inner calm, self-love, and radiance. Embracing these mindful moments not only sets a productive tone for the day but also cultivates a feeling of beauty from the inside out.

1. Get some fresh air, sunlight & deep breaths

⌛️✨ Time needed: 10 minutes

According to Andrew Huberman, one of the best things you can do upon waking is expose yourself to natural light. Natural light exposure can also enhance your skin’s radiance by supporting healthy sleep patterns and reducing stress, both essential for glowing, beautiful skin.

Therefore, start your day with 5 to 10 minutes of sunlight to feel more balanced, energized, and radiant inside and out. You could take a walk for 10 minutes and focus on your breathing OR you could simply do some breath work while enjoying the natural light – this one from Wim Hof is my favorite.

The Wim Hof method, specifically the breathing technique, is great for:

1. Inner beauty – Increases mental clarity, empowering you to approach the day with intention and decide who you want to be.

2. Outer beauty – By reducing inflammation, this practice helps promote clear, healthy skin and can even calm redness, making it a perfect addition to any beauty routine.

If there is no light outside (because you wake up very early), focus on those deep breaths or any type of meditation for 10 minutes.

step 3

Set Clear Intentions for Your Self Worth Journey

Setting an intention for your self worth journey each morning is a simple but transformative practice. Your intention might be straightforward or it could be something broader.

1. Grab a pen and paper or you ipad

⌛️✨ Time needed: 5 minutes

Write your intention for the day. Don’t think to much about it, focus on what feels relevant in that moment. It could be something like:

  • Embracing self-compassion, especially on days when you’re feeling less than perfect.
  • Choosing to nourish your body with what feels good and energizes you.
  • Asking yourself, ‘Does this align with my true self?’ before agreeing to any new commitment.

These small, mindful intentions don’t just guide you through your day—they strengthen your inner beauty and help you cultivate a sense of peace, confidence, and authenticity that shines through. If you have time, bring out your inner writer and continue journaling for as long as you see fit.

step 4

Grounding Skincare Ritual

Now we're at the fun part. And yes, I mean skincare. If you're not into it yet, don't worry — I'll make it enjoyable.

I care a lot about productivity and using time well, so before you even touch a product, I want you to pause for a second and ask: what do I need today? Energy, calm, confidence? That's how you set the tone for your ritual.

⌛️ Time needed: 10 minutes

The no.1 Morning Routine for dewy skin

In the morning, cleanse your face with water or rose water. Skipping harsh cleansers can help protect the skin barrier and reduce dryness and irritation. Brush your teeth before moving on — simple and efficient.

Apply a Vitamin C and/or hyaluronic acid serum. Vitamin C supports brightness and protects against environmental stress, while hyaluronic acid hydrates and keeps the skin plump. Together, they create that fresh, dewy look without overdoing it.

Let the serum absorb while you brush your hair. Then apply a nourishing moisturizer — I like formulas with squalane and hyaluronic acid. Massage it in with your hands or a gua sha to gently stimulate circulation.

Finish with sunscreen. Daily. Ideally one that also protects against pollution — because skincare is about long-term skin health, not just today’s glow.

step 5

Celebrate with Coffee or Tea

This technically goes beyond the 30 minutes I promised. But if you have the space, sit down with your coffee or tea — no phone — and let the moment land. Use it to settle and feel good.

We tend to rush through these moments because we tell ourselves they don’t matter. They’re “just” a shower, “just” skincare, “just” getting dressed. But these are often the exact moments that set the tone for how we move, speak, and treat ourselves for the rest of the day.

Some mornings, you won’t have time for everything. That’s real life. Still, consistency matters more than perfection. Even five minutes of breathing, presence, or intention is enough to shift your energy. Something is always better than nothing — especially when it’s done with awareness.
